With our innovative and insightful application of machine learning and AI, we strive to enhance our water quality stakeholder's operational decision making. Founded in 2021 after our technology was incubated in The Prediction Lab, our incredible mathematicians, scientists, programmers, designers have worked tirelessly to bring ClearWater to water quality and quantity stakeholders.
We maintain research and development projects, working with our clients to steadily improve the utility of our products, addressing the changing needs and motivations of our users. Our Team
James Watson
CEO
James holds a PhD in Marine Science from UCSB, and has conducted research at Princeton and Oregon State University. James has received a number of awards for his innovative research, in particular the DARPA Young Faculty Award, and The Oceanography Society's Early Career Award. He has brought his experience in environmental science, ecology, oceanography and complex systems to the creation of ClearWater.
Mathew Titus
CTO
Since receiving his PhD in mathematics from Oregon State University, Mathew has worked as a complex systems scientist and software developer. His degree was focused on probability and random processes; this training informs his research on emergent behavior in social and natural systems and his approach in designing ClearWater. His other major interests include fractals, language, and coffee.
Mathew Titus
CTO
Since receiving his PhD in mathematics from Oregon State University, Mathew has worked as a complex systems scientist and software developer. John Woodill
Senior Data Scientist
John holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Hawaii, and has conducted research at Oregon State University. John is also a data scientist and data-systems architect. John has vast experience developing machine learning models and building data systems for ingesting and QC/QAing clean and dirty data alike.
Benji Antolin
Geovisualization Developer
Benji is a Data & GIS Analyst and has developed numerous dashboards and other forms of geospatial visualization. Benji has helped develop novel online/mobile applications for communicating a range of important issues, for example local rates of Covid 19 infections, and now with us, harmful algal blooms. Benji has a unique skillset that combines visual art with code development.
